Description: 

This workshop provides teachers with hands-on training in Computer Science (“CS”) education. No prior experience in computing is required. Topics covered include computational thinking, a CS word wall, classroom strategies, programming with kids, and lots of “unplugged” classroom activities ready for immediate adoption. Attendees receive free curriculum guides and bling bags from Code.org. Michele Roberts

Presenter Bio: 

Michele Roberts teaches Computer Science at the Indianapolis regional campus of Purdue University. She has been active in Computer Science K-12 outreach for many  years, hosting workshops for teachers and summer camps for students. 

In addition to being the Indiana Code.org K5 affiliate, Michele is also a pilot instructor for the upcoming new Computer Science Principles course and Director of CSCI Computing Outreach at IUPUI. She is passionate about helping teachers increase confidence and competency in computational thinking, and looks forward to working with and learning from all teachers interested in growing computational skills in children.

Cancellations after that date will lead to you/your district forfeiting the right to a refund or non-payment of the registration. Because we understand that, as school personnel, circumstances change from day to day and scheduling conflicts may arise at any time, you may send someone from your district in your place.
