This half-day workshop is intended for K-8 teachers, instructional leaders and administrators who are interested in incorporating inquiry-based instructional approaches into their lessons and units. A team of North Cook ISC consultants with professional expertise in a variety of content areas will introduce participants to:

  • How inquiry is embedded in all of the Illinois Learning Standards
  • Common/essential elements of inquiry in all content areas
  • Teachers’ role and students’ role in inquiry-based learning
  • Inquiry models
  • How to get started with planning inquiry-based lessons/units
  • Requirements to successfully implement inquiry-based learning

Then, over the next few months, we've scheduled additional workshops at North Cook ISC when we will dive deeper into how inquiry can be incorporated into specific content areas. See the schedule below and watch for more details and registration information soon.

Cancellations after that date will lead to you/your district forfeiting the right to a refund or non-payment of the registration. Because we understand that, as school personnel, circumstances change from day to day and scheduling conflicts may arise at any time, you may send someone from your district in your place.
