McKinney-Vento Liaisons and Early Childhood - Making the Connections

Course Type:

  • Teacher Workshop

Course Date:

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

All McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaisons along with LEA Early Childhood Program Directors and others are invited to attend this informative “Working Lunch”. Early intervention is critical for homeless children.  Are we identifying and referring siblings not in the K-12 system to these vital programs? Are children correctly identified as M-V eligible currently in Early Childhood Programs?

Carrie Biers, Senior Policy Manager, Ounce of Prevention  will join us and have an interactive discussion on the types of Early Childhood programs, finding programs in your area, getting childcare assistance for families and other important information to better meet the needs of our youngest and most vulnerable population.

Tom Bookler, McKinney -Vento Homeless Liaison, North Cook County and Carrie Biers, Senior Policy Manager, Ounce of Prevention
